Words

Words are an enigma. Invisible, they are a force that can either console us or smother us. They can inspire and discourage us. They are the nucleus of our atom. Fundamental in our core, we spend our first years instinctively deciphering them to use them.

What if words were made visible? Would they litter or spawn? Would we discard or gather them? Would we cultivate them or let them grows like weeds?

This work imagines words as a visible object. It travels from home to venture the outside where it gets used up. I then pick it up and clean it. When Words travel, they transform. Their original shape mutates with every moment of an exchange. Born from a mouth, they become whatever the receptor wants it to be. But even as they are picked up and cleaned they can’t be their true original self. Some words are forgotten, never to be heard again.
