Artist Statement

The craftmanship of rag rugs, which are made of scraps of used cloth weaved together to create an even stronger fabric, makes me reflect on origines, memories and tradition. I like the poetic parallel between many small pieces of colour intertwined to reveal a greater story; many events to form one.
I use paint to imitate a weave. Sections of heavy paint take the role of fabric torned out by daily use which create a space for viewers to see through the textures a resemblance of a landscape and a passing of time.
